Frequently asked questions

Is this a Walther PDP F-Series pistol?

No. Walther officially identifies product code 2851741 as the PDP Full Size 4.5". It has a full-size grip and an 18-round magazine. The smaller-hand-oriented PDP F-Series is a separate model family.

Is a red-dot sight included?

No. The slide is optics ready, but the sight is purchased separately. Depending on the mounting footprint of the selected optic, an appropriate Walther PDP adapter plate may also be required.

What does co-witness ready mean?

With a compatible optic and mounting arrangement, the iron sights can remain visible through the optic window. Actual visibility depends on the height of the optic, adapter plate and iron sights.

How does the 4.5-inch model differ from the 5-inch PDP?

The 4.5-inch model is shorter and lighter while retaining the full-size grip and 18-round capacity. The 5-inch model provides a longer iron-sight radius and slightly more weight toward the front of the pistol.

Is the pistol suitable for left-handed users?

Yes. The slide stop is ambidextrous, while the magazine release can be reversed. Three interchangeable backstraps also allow the grip to be adjusted to the shooter’s hand.

How many magazines are included?

Walther specifies two 18-round magazines in the factory package. A magazine loader, three backstraps and an optics-cut cover plate are also supplied.

What is required to purchase this pistol?

This is a regulated firearm. Purchase and transfer require digital identity verification, the applicable acquisition permit or firearm licence and compliance with current Estonian law and the retailer’s procedures.

When is the Walther PDP Full Size 4.5" the right choice?

This model is suitable for users who want a full-size grip and an 18-round magazine without the longer slide of a five-inch pistol. Its 4.5-inch configuration sits between the Compact 4-inch and Full Size 5-inch models, providing a practical balance of overall size, barrel length and weight.

A PDP Compact may be preferable for shooters who want a shorter grip. The Full Size 5-inch model provides a longer sight radius and more weight at the front. A PDP Pro or Match model is the better choice when a Dynamic Performance Trigger, magazine well or other competition-oriented factory upgrades are required.

Expert recommendation

Before ordering an optic, verify its mounting footprint and the required adapter plate. The Holosun SCS-PDP is designed for direct mounting on a compatible PDP optics interface, but compatibility with the specific pistol should still be confirmed before purchase.

Test all three backstrap sizes before regular use. The correct size helps position the trigger finger naturally and reduces unnecessary lateral pressure from the hand. After installing an optic, check that the mounting system remains secure and confirm the actual point of impact at an authorised shooting range.

A balanced full-size PDP

The Walther PDP Full Size 4.5" combines a 115 mm polygonal barrel, 18-round magazine, Performance Duty Trigger and optics-ready slide in a 715 g full-size pistol. It is a versatile option for users seeking balanced dimensions, adjustable ergonomics and the ability to add a red-dot sight.

Attention! The modification of the weapon may vary, ask the Jahipauna stores for more information.
