Frequently Asked Questions

What does 12M mean in the model name?

12M stands for 12 gauge Magnum configuration with a chamber length of 76 mm. The firearm can use suitable 12/70 and 12/76 ammunition, but the cartridge must not be longer than the chamber.

How long are the barrels on this model?

The barrel length is 762 mm, which is approximately 76 cm or 30 inches. This configuration sits between the more compact 71 cm and the longer 81 cm versions of the B825 Game.

Are 76 cm barrels suitable for dynamic hunting?

Yes. The 76 cm barrels offer a good compromise between maneuverability and smooth swing. In very dense woods, the 71 cm version may feel faster, but in more open terrain and for bird hunting, the 76 cm model supports more stable target tracking.

What is the advantage of the Invector DS choke system?

Invector DS chokes feature a double seal that helps keep combustion residues away from the threads. With the five included chokes, you can adjust shot pattern constriction for different types of hunting and shooting distances.

Is the Browning B825 Game suitable for use with steel shot?

Yes, the barrels are approved for use with steel shot. You must use ammunition that matches the gun’s proof marks, choke, and manufacturer’s instructions, as there may be restrictions on using tighter chokes with larger steel shot.

Is the stock adjustable?

The cheekpiece is not adjustable. The stock length of pull is 375 mm, drop at comb is 36 mm, and drop at heel is 56 mm. It is recommended to check the fit of the stock with your usual hunting clothing before purchase.

What are the requirements for purchasing this firearm?

This is a firearm with restricted civilian circulation. Purchase and transfer require a valid acquisition or firearms license, identity verification, and compliance with firearms law and seller instructions.

When is the Browning B825 Game 76 cm the right choice?

The B825 Game with 76 cm barrels is suitable for hunters who want to cover a variety of bird and small game situations with one shotgun. This configuration swings more steadily than the 71 cm model but is still compact enough for use in the woods and with a dog.

The shorter 71 cm barrel version may be a better choice in dense forest, for fast close-range shots, or when minimal overall length is a priority. The longer 81 cm model is better suited for open terrain or for those who prefer an especially smooth swing. For high-volume competition shooting, consider the heavier B825 Sporter.

Recommendations

Before purchasing, check that the 375 mm length of pull suits your build, shooting stance, and typical hunting clothing. When mounting the gun, your eye should naturally align with the center of the 6 mm rib. If you have to stretch your neck or unnaturally press your cheek to aim, have a gunsmith check the stock fit.

Start by testing the Invector DS chokes with Cylinder, 1/4, and 1/2 constrictions and check the shot pattern on paper with your chosen hunting cartridge. This allows you to select the right choke for your specific type of hunting, rather than relying only on the marking on the choke itself.

After use in wet conditions, remove the forend and barrels, dry the metal surfaces, and clean the chokes and threads. Apply a thin layer of choke grease to the threads. Maintain the oiled Grade 5/6 walnut wood moderately and only with suitable products, avoiding oil at the junctions of wood and metal parts.
