Frequently Asked Questions

Is the mat only suitable for maintaining the CZ Shadow 2 SA?

No. The mat’s dimensions and protective surface also allow it to be used for maintaining other handguns. However, the printed parts diagram and component names are specific to the CZ Shadow 2 SA model.

Is the maintenance mat resistant to gun oil and solvents?

Yes. The mat is designed for regular firearm maintenance, and its surface and vulcanized rubber base help prevent oil, water, and dirt from reaching your workbench. For aggressive chemicals, it is advisable to test on a small area before extensive use.

How do I clean the TekMat maintenance mat?

You can clean the mat with a soft brush, a little soapy water, and clean water. After cleaning, let the mat dry completely in the air while laid flat, and do not place it near strong heat sources during drying.

Does the printed diagram replace the firearm’s user manual?

No. The diagram helps identify and organize parts, but when disassembling, assembling, and maintaining your firearm, always follow the official CZ user manual.

When is the TekMat CZ Shadow 2 SA the right choice?

This maintenance mat is the best choice for CZ Shadow 2 SA owners who want to protect both their firearm’s finish and their workbench during cleaning. The model-specific parts diagram helps keep track of components, and the 28 × 43 cm surface offers enough space for the handgun and standard maintenance tools.

If you mainly maintain long guns or want to place more tools and cleaning supplies on the mat at once, choose a larger rifle or universal mat. For deeper repairs and separating parts, a maintenance tray with higher edges or separate magnetic parts bowls may be more convenient.

Expert advice

Before starting maintenance, always make sure the firearm is completely unloaded. Remove the magazine, check the chamber both visually and physically, and keep ammunition separate from the work area. Place firearm parts on the mat in the order of disassembly – this makes it easier to check and reassemble them correctly later.

The soft surface of the TekMat protects the firearm during normal handling, but small springs, pins, and screws may still move unnoticed. For these, use a separate shallow parts bowl. Apply oil and cleaning agents first to a cloth or brush, not directly to the mat; this prevents excess liquid and makes later cleaning easier.

After finishing work, wipe the mat clean and let it dry completely before rolling it up. Roll the mat with the printed side out and do not fold it, as strong creasing may leave a permanent mark on the rubber base. Use the printed diagram as a helpful guide, but always follow the official firearm user manual.
