Frequently Asked Questions

Is the mounting plate compatible with every Glock pistol?

No. The pistol must have a compatible Glock MOS optic cut interface. According to the manufacturer, the mounting plate is not suitable for Gen 6 or Slimline Glock models.

Is the plate compatible with a regular Glock without the MOS system?

No. A regular Glock slide does not have the factory optic cut required for installing this plate. Mechanical modification of the slide is a separate gunsmithing task and compatibility cannot be assumed based on this plate alone.

Which Aimpoint sights can be used with the plate?

Aimpoint describes the product as a mounting plate for ACRO series sights. The manufacturer's page lists ACRO P-1 and ACRO P-2 as related products. Compatibility with a specific sight should be checked before installation.

Is the plate compatible with Glock 43X MOS or Glock 48 MOS models?

No. Glock 43X MOS and Glock 48 MOS belong to the narrower frame Slimline family, which according to the manufacturer, is not compatible with this mounting plate.

Can I install it myself?

Aimpoint recommends having the mounting plate installed by a qualified gunsmith. The correct mounting hardware, torque, and screw length are important for both the stability of the sight and the reliability of the firearm.

Should the sight be zeroed after installation?

Yes. After installing the mounting plate and sight, check the sight’s attachment and adjust the point of impact with appropriate ammunition at a certified shooting range.

When is the Aimpoint Glock MOS ACRO mounting plate the right choice?

This plate is the right choice if you have a compatible standard-width Glock MOS pistol and want to install an ACRO series red dot sight on it. The adapter connects the Glock MOS optic cut interface with the ACRO mounting system without the need for a separate Picatinny rail.

A different mount must be chosen for Glock Gen 6 and Slimline models, as well as pistols whose slides lack an MOS optic cut. Compatibility should not be decided by model name alone, as MOS and standard versions of the same model may use different slides.

Expert recommendation

Before purchasing, check the exact model, generation, and MOS marking of your firearm. It is especially important to rule out Gen 6 and Slimline models. If unsure about compatibility, compare the firearm’s product code and slide interface with Glock’s and Aimpoint’s documentation.

During installation, the firearm must be completely unloaded and all ammunition removed from the work area. Since Aimpoint recommends professional installation, have a gunsmith select the correct screws and torque. After the first shots, check the stability of the mount and the point of impact.
