Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Kuusamo Professor 2 lure suitable for?
Kuusamo Professor 2 is particularly well suited for salmonid fishing in waters where fish feed on small schooling fish, such as vendace, small whitefish, bleak, or smelt.

Is Kuusamo Professor 2 suitable for trout fishing?
Yes. The manufacturer describes it primarily for salmonids that feed on small schooling fish. It can be especially suitable for catching trout that feed on vendace.

What are the dimensions of Kuusamo Professor 2?
The lure has a length of 90 mm and a weight of 13 g.

Why is the Professor 2 surface pattern important?
The turtle pattern reflects light and creates a flash on the lure's side, which may resemble the side flash of a small schooling fish in the water.

When is the Kuusamo Professor 2 lure the best choice?

Professor 2 is an especially good choice when there is an abundance of small schooling fish in the fishing water and salmonids feed on them. The 90 mm and 13 g combination makes it a medium-sized lure, and its selection should be based primarily on the available food base for the fish.

When should you consider an alternative?

If the fish feed on noticeably larger prey, it may be wise to choose a larger Professor. If predatory fish are located deeper or require a lure with a different action, choose an alternative with the appropriate swimming depth or action.

Jahipaun's recommendation: Professor 2 is not necessarily a universal solution for every type of fishing. If you know that the target fish feed specifically on vendace, bleak, or some other small schooling fish, the logic behind this lure becomes much stronger. If the fish feed on different or larger prey, choose the size and shape of the lure accordingly.

Summary

Kuusamo Professor 2 is a great example of a lure whose selection should be tied to the food base of the specific water body. The 90 mm length and 13 g weight give it a practical size when the target fish are hunting smaller schooling fish. This model is especially interesting in clear water lakes, where the lure's visual side flash can be important.
