Frequently Asked Questions

Which pistol does the EXO 9 fit?

The case fits a handgun whose overall length and height are within the interior dimensions of approximately 23.5 × 16.5 cm. Installed optics or a weapon light may require additional space.

Does a full-size pistol fit in the case?

Some full-size models may fit, but for pistols with a longer barrel, larger grip, or optical sight, the EXO 12 may be more suitable.

Is the case suitable for an optic cut pistol?

An optic cut pistol will fit only if the height of the gun with the installed sight remains within the usable interior dimensions of the case.

Is the EXO 9 a fully rigid case?

No. The thermoformed outer shell adds support, but the case does not provide the same crush protection as a hard plastic case.

Are the zippers lockable?

Yes. The zippers can be used with a suitable small lock, which must be purchased separately.

When is the Allen EXO 9 the right choice?

The EXO 9 is suitable for a single compact or medium-sized pistol when you want a small case that fits easily into a larger gear bag. The thermoformed outer shell provides more support than a typical thin soft case.

For pistols with a large frame, long barrel, compensator, weapon light, or tall optical sight, choose the EXO 12. If you need strong crush or weather protection, use a rigid sealed case.

We recommend

We recommend measuring your pistol with all permanently installed accessories. Leave some space around the gun so that the zipper does not press against the optical sight or weapon light. The spare magazine should be placed so that its metal edges do not touch the gun’s finish.

Keep the case dry and clean any oil or dirt from the foam interior. The EXO 9 is for transport and surface protection, not a replacement for a proper gun safe or fully rigid security case.

Compact reinforced case for one pistol

The Allen EXO 9 combines a small packing size, thermoformed outer shell, and soft profiled interior. It is a practical choice for transporting a compact or medium-sized handgun to and from the shooting range.
