WESTIN UNHOOKING PLIERS NÄPITSAD STAINLESS XXL 41 CM

The Westin Unhooking Pliers Stainless XXL are extra-long, 41 cm hook removal pliers designed primarily for pike fishing and handling other large predatory fish. The XXL size provides extended reach, making it easier to access hooks that are deeply set in a fish's mouth. The long design also helps keep your hands further away from sharp teeth and free hooks on the lure, allowing for more controlled hook removal.

The pliers are made from high-quality steel and feature SaltShield96 protective treatment, making them suitable for use in both freshwater and saltwater. A smooth PTFE coating supports easy operation, while the ergonomic soft-touch handle provides a comfortable and secure grip.

With their 41 cm length, these XXL pliers are particularly useful when unhooking large pike and other powerful predators. They are a practical choice for anglers using large lures, jerkbaits and large spoons who need a tool with greater reach than standard hook removal pliers.

FAQ

Why choose 41 cm XXL pliers?
The extra-long design provides greater reach and helps keep your hands further away from the fish's teeth and free hooks on the lure. This is especially useful when handling large pike and other predatory fish.

Are XXL pliers also suitable for smaller fish?
Yes, but the 41 cm length may be more cumbersome when handling smaller perch or trout compared to shorter models. Their main advantage is when targeting larger predators.

Can the pliers be used in saltwater?
Yes. According to the manufacturer, they are suitable for use in both freshwater and saltwater. After use in saltwater, rinse the tool with fresh water, dry the joint thoroughly and store the pliers in a dry place.

Do the pliers have a line or hook cutter?
The manufacturer's description does not mention a cutting function. These are hook removal pliers, so a separate suitable cutter should be used for cutting strong hooks, wire or braided line.

When are the Westin Unhooking Pliers Stainless XXL the right choice?
The 41 cm XXL model is a good choice for targeted pike fishing and handling other large predatory fish. Its extra length helps reach deeper into the fish's mouth while keeping your hands further away from sharp teeth and loose hooks on the lure.

Recommendations

Before removing a hook, secure the fish in a landing net or on a fish handling mat and check the position of all hooks on the lure. Long pliers reduce the need to put your hand inside the fish's mouth but do not eliminate the risk of injury. Grip the hook firmly and avoid sudden movements that could injure the fish or angler.

Keep a separate strong hook cutter in your fishing gear. If the hook is deeply set or normal removal could cause excessive harm to the fish, cutting the hook may be a safer solution.

After using the pliers in saltwater, rinse them with fresh water and dry the joint thoroughly. Before your next fishing trip, check that the tool moves freely and the handle is intact. Do not use the pliers as a lever or for cutting strong hooks unless the manufacturer has specified such a function.

In summary

The Westin Unhooking Pliers Stainless XXL are 41 cm long hook removal pliers featuring an extra-long design, an ergonomic handle and protective treatment suitable for saltwater use. The XXL size provides additional reach when removing deeply set hooks and helps keep your hands further away from the teeth of large predatory fish and loose hooks on lures.
