KOMMUNICA ANTENNA WITH FEMALE SMA PLUG

The Komunica PWR-TA-71-SMAF is a dual-band handheld radio antenna that allows you to use both the 2 m and 70 cm frequency bands with a single antenna. This flexible, 40 cm long antenna is suitable as a replacement antenna for compatible radios and also supports reception on several additional frequencies. The previous model code, PWR-SRH-771-SMAF, features an SMA-F (SMA female) connector.

Suitable for use

• For amateur radio communications on the 2 m and 70 cm frequency bands.

• As a replacement antenna for compatible VHF/UHF handheld radios.

• For portable radio communication.

• For receiving additional frequencies, if the radio supports them.

Why choose this?

• Two bands with one antenna: designed for both VHF and UHF communication.

• Flexible design: the 40 cm long antenna rod is suitable for portable radios.

• Additional receive frequencies: the antenna can also be used to listen to extra frequencies listed by the manufacturer.

• SMA-F connector: allows installation on devices with a matching SMA male antenna port.

• Up to 10 W transmit power: suitable for radios whose transmit power is within the antenna's permitted limits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which radios is this SMA-F antenna compatible with?

The antenna is suitable for devices whose antenna connector, operating frequencies, and transmit power match the antenna's specifications. The SMA-F antenna requires an SMA male socket as a counterpart. It is also important to check that the antenna fitting matches the radio body.

Is the Komunica PWR-TA-71-SMAF suitable for hunting radios?

Suitability depends on the specific hunting radio and the frequency used. The transmit frequencies for this antenna are 144 MHz and 430 MHz. When choosing an antenna for a hunting radio, compare both the operating frequency and the connector; a matching plug alone is not sufficient.

Do 2 m and 70 cm refer to the antenna length?

These refer to radio frequency bands. The actual antenna length is 40 cm.

Can you transmit on the additional receive frequencies?

The manufacturer lists 120, 150, 300, 800, and 900 MHz as additional receive frequencies. This list does not confirm the antenna's suitability for transmitting on those frequencies. The radio itself must also support the desired receive frequency.

When is this the right choice?

The Komunica PWR-TA-71-SMAF is the right choice if you need a 40 cm antenna for a compatible handheld radio and use both the 2 m and 70 cm frequency bands.

Our recommendation

We recommend starting antenna selection by checking your radio model and the frequencies you intend to use. The SMA-F designation describes the connector, but a suitable plug is not enough—the antenna must also match the device's operating frequency. This Komunica model is a sensible choice for users who need both the 2 m and 70 cm bands with a single handheld radio. Also consider the antenna's length: a 40 cm rod requires more space for carrying and storage than a short antenna. If your goal is to improve an existing radio's range, compare antennas in the same use conditions. A longer antenna alone does not guarantee a definite increase in communication range. For hunting radios, always check the operating frequency separately before purchase and seek advice if you need help choosing an antenna for a specific frequency.

Choose the Komunica PWR-TA-71-SMAF if you need a dual-band SMA-F connector antenna for your compatible VHF/UHF handheld radio.
