Frequently Asked Questions

Which scopes is the Large optic cover suitable for?

The cover is intended for optical scopes up to 38.1 cm in length and approximately 44–56 mm objective class.

Will a scope with a 56 mm objective definitely fit?

Not necessarily. The stated 56 mm refers to the optical objective size, but the actual outer diameter of the scope housing may be larger. Measure the widest point of the objective housing.

Is the cover waterproof?

Neoprene helps repel splashes and moisture, but the cover is not described as fully waterproof or submersible.

Can the optic cover be used while shooting?

The cover must be removed before using the firearm. Ensure that lenses, adjustment turrets, and other parts of the firearm are unobstructed.

Is the cover suitable for a thermal scope?

Suitability depends on the shape and dimensions of the device. For thermal devices with irregular bodies, control knobs, or protruding parts, a cover designed for rifle scopes may not fit.

When is the Allen Neoprene Scope Cover Large the right choice?

The Large is suitable for optical scopes with a large objective or long body, where the Medium is too short or narrow. Common examples include 3–9×50, 4–16×50, 3–15×52, 4–20×52, 6–24×50, and 6.5–20×56 scopes.

If your scope is up to 30.5 cm long and has up to a 44 mm objective, the Medium model will generally fit more compactly around the optic.

We recommend

We recommend measuring the total length of your scope and the outer diameter of the objective housing, not relying solely on the optical diameter stated in the model name. Also consider the magnification ring, adjustment turrets, and lens covers.

Before installing the cover, ensure both the scope and cover are clean. Sand or hard dirt left under the neoprene may scratch the optic’s finish when the cover moves. After wet use, remove the cover and dry it separately from the optic.

Stretchable protective cover for large optical scopes

The Allen Neoprene Scope Cover Large provides lightweight protection for scopes with up to a 56 mm objective class against dust, scratches, and minor impacts. The reversible black-camouflage design allows you to change the cover’s appearance to suit the situation.
