The daytime-scope adapter is not included in the standard package. The correct adapter must be selected according to the outside diameter of the riflescope objective and must provide an M52 × 0.75 connection on the device side.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Nocpix MATE 2 Lite a riflescope attachment or an observation monocular?

It supports both uses. Its main role is as a front attachment for a compatible daytime riflescope, but Monocular mode can be selected in the menu for handheld thermal observation.

Does the MATE 2 Lite have an integrated laser rangefinder?

No. The MATE 2 Lite does not have a built-in laser rangefinder. Distance must be determined with a separate device, selected manually or received from a compatible Nocpix device through N-Link.

How does the ballistic calculator work without a rangefinder?

The MATE 2 Lite allows the user to select and modify a preset distance for ballistic calculation. Alternatively, it can receive measured distance information from a compatible rangefinding Nocpix device through N-Link.

Does the MATE 2 Lite support Magic Zoom?

No. The Magic Zoom accessory is not compatible with the MATE 2 Lite and is not supplied with it. When the magnification of the daytime optic is changed, the interface can be resized manually through four selectable levels.

Is a daytime-scope adapter included?

No. The adapter is sold separately because its riflescope-side diameter depends on the outside measurement of the scope objective. The MATE 2 Lite uses an M52 × 0.75 connection thread.

Does the 1,950 m detection range mean that a subject can be identified at that distance?

No. Detection range describes the potential ability to notice the presence of a human-sized heat source under suitable conditions. Reliable recognition and identification distances are considerably shorter and depend on target size, thermal contrast, weather and the operator’s experience.

How long does the device operate on one battery?

The manufacturer specifies a maximum operating time of up to six hours at 22 °C. Wi-Fi, video recording, other active functions and low temperatures can reduce this figure. Two replaceable 18650 batteries are included.

How does the MATE 2 Lite differ from the H50R?

The MATE 2 Lite uses a 384 × 288 detector and a 38 mm objective, with a detection rating of up to 1,950 m. The H50R has a higher-resolution 640 × 512 detector, a 50 mm objective, a 2,600 m detection rating, an integrated 1,200 m rangefinder and Magic Zoom support. The Lite is lighter, more economical and offers longer operating time from one battery.

Can a thermal imager see through branches, fog or rain?

It cannot see through tree trunks, dense vegetation or other solid obstacles. Thermal imaging may help reveal a heat source through gaps in foliage and can outperform visible-light optics in darkness or moderately reduced visibility. Dense fog, heavy rain and high humidity still reduce thermal contrast and detection performance.

Can the attachment be used for hunting?

Installation on a firearm and use while hunting must comply with all applicable firearms and hunting regulations. Permitted use can depend on the jurisdiction, species and hunting method, so current local requirements should always be checked beforehand.

For prolonged scanning, a dedicated handheld thermal monocular or binocular is generally more ergonomic. The MATE 2 Lite’s Monocular mode remains useful for shorter observation periods and for checking an area before attaching the device to a daytime optic.
