Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between XRG and TXRG?

TXRG uses a pointed polymer tip and boat-tail profile. This load consequently has a higher published ballistic coefficient than the conventional XRG load in the same calibre.

Does the blue tip indicate a lead-core bullet?

No. The projectile is solid copper and lead-free; the blue component is its polymer tip.

Can 7×57 R be used in a 7×57 chamber?

No. Rimmed 7×57 R and rimless 7×57 are different cartridges.

Recommended products

• 7×57 R XRG 10.2 g ammunition

• Alternative 7×57 R hunting loads

• Riflescopes and mounting systems

• Shooting targets

• Rifle-cleaning equipment

When is S&B 7×57 R TXRG the right choice?

TXRG suits hunters looking for a lead-free 7×57 R cartridge with a streamlined boat-tail bullet. Its velocity and ballistic coefficient make it particularly relevant for more open terrain.

Expert recommendation

Do not assume that its point of impact matches the heavier XRG load. Confirm the rifle’s zero at a shooting range before hunting.
