Frequently asked questions

Are 7×57 R and 7×57 the same cartridge?

No. The 7×57 R is a rimmed cartridge primarily intended for break-action firearms. Only the exact calibre marked on the barrel may be used.

Does the XRG bullet contain lead?

The bullet itself is solid copper and lead-free. Primer composition should be determined from the specific product markings.

Is it suitable for an older 7×57 R firearm?

The chambering and mechanical condition of an older firearm should be checked by a qualified gunsmith before use.

When is S&B 7×57 R XRG the right choice?

This load suits hunters whose firearm is specifically chambered in rimmed 7×57 R and who prefer a solid-copper bullet. Its 158-grain projectile emphasises penetration and retained weight.

Expert recommendation

Always verify the marking on the firearm itself. The rimmed 7×57 R cartridge is not interchangeable with the rimless 7×57.
