Frequently Asked Questions

Which firearms is the Master Gun Workstation suitable for?

The workstation is designed for rifles and shotguns of various lengths and shapes. For firearms with very unusual stocks, forends, or barrel shapes, compatibility should be checked separately.

Can the maintenance bench be attached to a table?

Yes. The adjustable feet allow the workstation to be used free-standing, clamped with bench clamps, or bolted to a work surface.

Are Smart-Assist accessories included?

No. The workstation is compatible with the Smart-Assist system, but the light, magnifier, and phone holder are sold separately.

Is the workstation suitable for gunsmithing work requiring high torque?

It is suitable for cleaning, optics mounting, and many maintenance tasks. For barrel nuts or tightly installed muzzle devices, a vise support designed for the specific receiver or barrel should be used.

When is the Real Avid Master Gun Workstation the right choice?

The Master Gun Workstation is suitable for users who regularly clean and adjust various rifles or shotguns. The wide adjustment range, one-handed clamp, and integrated tool holders make it more versatile than a simple gun rest.

If your main work involves high-torque receiver or barrel jobs, a sturdy bench vise with platform-based supports is more suitable. For occasional cleaning, a simpler maintenance bench may suffice.

Recommendations

First, set the distance and height of the supports without clamping the firearm tightly. The firearm should rest naturally on the pads, and the clamp should not bend the stock, forend, or barrel. Tighten the rear clamp only as much as needed for stable holding.

When mounting optics, use the leveling knob for minor adjustments and check the firearm’s position with a separate leveling system. Wipe off any cleaning fluid spills from the metal tray after finishing, and keep the magnetic slots and cleaning rod holders free of metal debris. If the job requires high torque, transfer the load through a platform-based support rather than letting it rest on the stock or standard Gun Gripper support.

Adjustable workstation for firearm maintenance and optics installation

The Real Avid Master Gun Workstation combines a gun rest, organized workspace, and optics leveling capability. It is a practical centerpiece for cleaning, maintaining, and installing accessories on firearms.
