No. The Leopard 640 eX is a handheld observation monocular. It is intended for locating and observing wildlife, terrain and other heat sources rather than for mounting on a firearm.

How far can the device detect a heat source?

Detection means noticing a suitably sized heat source; it does not mean that the species or other important details can necessarily be identified at that distance.
